Our Mission & Vision
The mission of Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.
Leadership Team:
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Pastor Jack Anderson
Pastor Jack Anderson, a graduate (MDiv, 2001) of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, was called to begin his ministry here with us at DVLC in 2002. A second career pastor, Pastor Jack previously practiced dentistry for eighteen years in the greater Seattle area. He has a strong interest in progressive Christianity, and his hobbies include chess and the making, repairing and playing of stringed musical instruments. Pastor Jack and his wife, Karin, an accomplished artist, have two adult children: a son, Matt; and a daughter, Turi. The Anderson’s live in the Woodland Heights neighborhood in Sequim.
Parish Nurse, Mary Griffith
Mary Griffith has 40 years nursing experience, 20 years of that has been spent as the Parish Nurse of DVLC. Mary looks over the health and welfare of the congregation. She works with the Pastor as well as with area hospitals, social service agencies and the community agencies. She focuses on prevention, wholeness, and wellness of the congregation and the community. Roles of the Parish Nurse include; Health Educator, Personal Health Assistant, Referral Agent, Health Advocate and integrator of faith and health.
Christian Education Director,
Jan Webb
Jan Webb has always enjoyed working with children and youth. Her focus at DVLC is education for those pre-K up through high school. Our church focuses on the spiritual lives of children/youth through Sunday School programs, Vacation Bible School and special events. Jan received a Christian Education Director degree from Concordia, Irvine, CA. She also received a MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary and taught English in China for 3 years. Jan has 3 children (Emily, Jade and Olivia) who are active in the DVLC children/youth programs.
